ZJU-ISM Forges Close Ties with Thai Health Professionals Community

From March 5th to 6th, 2024, a delegation led by Prof. Li Xiaoming, Vice President of Zhejiang University paid a visit to Thailand and deepened partnership with Thai health professionals and educators. The delegation, including heads of Zhejiang University's Office of Global Engagement, hospital Administration Office, School of Medicine and International School of Medicine, visited Chulalongkorn University, Mahidol University and the Medical Council of Thailand, with an aim to promote in-depth exchanges and cooperation in mobility of faculty and students, joint research and multiple academic activities.

On March 5th and 6th, witnessed by Prof. Li Xiaoming and administrative members of respective parties, Prof. Chen Weiying, Vice Dean of the International School of Medicine, Zhejiang University (ZJU-ISM), representing the school, signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Prof. Chanchai Sittipunt, MD, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Chulalongkorn University, and Prof. Apichat Asavamongkolkul, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University. Prof. Chen Weiying's visits to the two esteemed medical institutions in 2023 and the following exchanges led to the signing of the two MoUs, which will foster a cooperative and substantial partnership between the parties.

On this occasion, Prof. Li Xiaoming and Prof. Chen Weiying also paid a visit to the Executive Board of the Medical Council of Thailand and held a discussion with Prof. Amorn Leelarasamee and Assoc. Prof. Yothin Benjawung. TMC's accreditation presented recognition for Thai students at ZJU-ISM after their completion of the medical education in China. Several possible opportunities were spotted between both parties during the meeting, which will be conducive to innovating medical and health professions education.
