On June 15, Prof. Sanjeewa Malaviarachchi, Director of International Relations Office at the University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka, visited the International School of Medicine, Zhejiang University(ZJU-ISM).

Prof. Lou Min, Executive Vice Dean of ZJU-ISM warmly welcomed Prof. Malaviarachchi. During the meeting, both sides introduced their institutions, academic strengths, and distinctive features. Prof. Sanjeewa Malaviarachchi expressed his appreciationof Zhejiang University’s international reputation and highly commended the MBBS program’s “early clinical exposure and early research engagement” model for medical education. He also expressed interest in establishing a long-term cooperative relationship.
Prof. Lou Min noted that the University of Peradeniya is a highly influential university in South Asia and expressed her hope that this visit would serve as an opportunity to further advance substantive cooperation in medical education and scientific research. The two sides held in-depth discussions on student exchange programs, medical education, and research collaboration, and reached preliminary consensus on multiple areas of cooperation.

Prof. Malaviarachchi then toured the library, teaching buildings, and student dormitories, gaining firsthand experience of the campus learning and living environment. He also met with Sri Lankan student representatives and warmly inquired about their academic progress and campus life.

The visit built abridge for friendly exchanges between the two institutions, further strengthened mutual understanding in medical education cooperation, and laid a solid foundation for future collaboration.
