In recognition of students who demonstrate exceptional academic merit and research capabilities, the International School of Medicine, Zhejiang University has provided a scholarship for those talented international students to pursue higher education in our school.
I. Coverage

Note:
This scholarship is available to both domestic and international PhD students. Chinese applicants, including those from Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan, should refer to separate notice. The type of scholarship awarded is subject to the results of the interview. The final interpretation from the International School of Medicine, Zhejiang University shall prevail.
II. Application Process and Duration
Fill in the scholarship application form of the International School of Medicine, Zhejiang University,
and send it to ismgraduate@zju.edu.cn (email subject: application number + name on passport + discipline), and also upload it to the Online Application System for International Students of Zhejiang University (link).
III. Eligibility
To be eligible for the PhD Scholarship, candidates must:
1. meet the qualifications for doctoral degree admission of Zhejiang University and the International School of Medicine, Zhejiang University. Please refer to the application bulletin for details (link).
2. not be concurrent beneficiaries of a Chinese Government Scholarship or other scholarships.
IV. Documents for Application
1. Scholarship application form of the International School of Medicine, Zhejiang University , using Chinese or in English.
2. Photocopy of Foreigner Physical Examination Form. The original copy should be kept by the applicant. This form is uniformly printed by the Chinese health and quarantine department and needs to be filled out in English.
The medical examinations must cover all the items listed in the Foreigner Physical Examination Form. Incomplete records or those without the signature of the attending physician, the official stamp of the hospital or a sealed photograph of the applicants are invalid. Because the examination results are valid for 6 months, applicants are requested to reasonably arrange the time for their physical examination accordingly.

4. Submission of GRE and NTS-GAT test scores is strongly encouraged.
Note:
1. The above application materials must be submitted by the applicant in the application system together with the admission application materials for admission before February 28, 2025.
2. Those with incomplete application materials or those who do not meet the requirements will not be accepted.
3. Please do NOT post the hard copies of the application materials or send them by e-mail. Paper application materials or those application materials sent by e-mail will not be reviewed or processed (except for the scholarship application form).
4. Supplementary materials or video interview may be required when necessary.

V. Selection
1. The awarding of the scholarship will be decided based on research capabilities, academic performance, language proficiency, online interview performance, etc.
2. The applicant can check the application result in the Online Application System for International Students of Zhejiang University in late July or early August 2025.
VI. Awarding
The duration of the scholarship for doctoral degree students is 3-4 academic years. For the exact duration, please refer to the Admission Notice.
Note:
Within the scholarship duration, registered scholarship students will receive a stipend from the school on a monthly basis. Students registering on or before the 15th of the month will receive a full stipend for that month. Those who register after the 15th of the month will receive a half stipend for that month.
For those who are suspended, withdrawn from the school or return to their home country, the stipend will be stopped during the next month. The stipend will be provided during school holidays. If scholarship students do not receive the stipend on time because they are away from school on vacation during the holidays, they can receive back payment after returning to school. If scholarship students fail to register at school on time without leave or are absent from school for non-health-related reasons for more than two weeks, that month’s stipend will be suspended.
VII. Others
1. Scholarship students' affairs are managed according to the relevant regulations of the PhD Scholarship of the International School of Medicine, Zhejiang University. If students fail in Annual Review, their scholarship will be terminated.
2. Scholarship students are not allowed to change their institutions nor their academic programs or the duration of study specified in the Admission Notice.
3. For scholarship students who have to suspend their studies due to illness and must return to their home country for further treatment and recovery, expenses for the international travel to and from the university will be borne by the students themselves, and their scholarship status will be held for one year at maximum, with the monthly living allowance suspended during the absence. Scholarships of the students who suspend their studies for reasons other than illness will not be held.
4. The International School of Medicine, Zhejiang University and the International College of Zhejiang University are responsible for the interpretation of the scholarship granting procedures and regulations.
