The Fourth Affiliated Hospital, Zhejiang University School of Medicine, the International School of Medicine, Zhejiang University, and the International Institutes of Medicine, Zhejiang University form a collaborative partnership established by Zhejiang University and Yiwu Municipal People's Government. The Fourth Affiliated Hospital, Zhejiang University School of Medicine is a provincial, comprehensive tertiary class-A hospital integrating medicine, education and research, and is directly affiliated with Zhejiang University. It has a planned 4,300 beds and is ranked top 5% of the tertiary public hospitals in China, making it the youngest hospital in the country to earn the award.

The International School of Medicine, Zhejiang University (ISM) is a secondary college run and managed by Zhejiang University, which is set to become an institute of higher medical education serving the national "Belt and Road" initiative. Huang Hefeng, an academician from the Chinese Academy of Sciences and a famous reproductive medicine scientist, has been appointed as the Dean of the International School of Medicine.

The International Institutes of Medicine, Zhejiang University is a platform for scientific research support and translational medicine research, and has been approved as the first batch of new provincial-level R&D institutions in Zhejiang Province, Zhejiang Engineering Research Center for Future Pathology, Postdoctoral Workstations. An international and cutting-edge research team has been built, focusing on “5+X” disciplines, including Reproductive Medicine, Oncology, Regeneration and Aging Medicine, Global Health, and Traditional Chinese Medicine. 8 centers have been built, including the Centers for Reproductive Medicine, RNA Medicine, Oncology Medicine, Regeneration and Aging Medicine, Metabolic Medicine, Brain and Nerve Disease Research, Mitochondrial Medicine, and Genomics Medicine. We will continue to carry out high-level clinical translation and cutting-edge multidisciplinary cooperation.

Position Description

The position of Zhejiang University “Qiushi” Distinguished Scholar (including “Qiushi” Distinguished Professor, “Qiushi” Distinguished Instructional Scholar, “Qiushi” Distinguished Experimental Scholar, “Qiushi” Distinguished Clinician) is a prestigious academic role that is bestowed upon accomplished individuals who have made significant contributions to their respective fields. As a Qiushi Distinguished Scholar, one holds a distinguished position within the academic community and is recognized for their exceptional expertise, research and scholarly achievements.

Responsibilities

• Research Excellence: As a "Qiushi" Distinguished Scholar, you conduct groundbreaking research in your field, making innovative and rigorous contributions with a significant impact on academia and society. You push the boundaries of knowledge and advance your discipline.
• Academic Leadership: You provide leadership by actively engaging in conferences, seminars and workshops, sharing expertise, inspiring fellow researchers, and fostering collaboration and idea exchange.
• Teaching and Mentorship: You deliver high-quality instruction, creating an engaging and inspiring learning environment. You mentor and guide students to support their intellectual and professional growth.
• Publication and Dissemination: You publish research findings in reputable journals, contributing significantly to academic literature. You further disseminate work to enhance visibility, impact and knowledge exchange.
• Academic Service: You contribute to the academic community and university through committee participation, peer review, program development and strategic guidance.
• Ethical Conduct and Role Modeling: You maintain high standards of integrity, professionalism and ethics, and set a positive example, fostering inclusivity, support and open exchange of ideas.

Basic Qualifications

• You should hold a position as professor or equivalent position at a high-level university either domestically or internationally (For the position of “Qiushi” Distinguished Clinician, you should ideally hold both the positions of professor and chief physician).
• You should be under the age of 55 as of January 1st of the application year.

Additional Qualifications and Skills

• You are exposed to a wide influence within your field and capable of leading your discipline to surpass or at the very least keep pace with international advanced levels.
• You should possess strong teamwork skills, as well as relevant organizational and managerial abilities.
• You should have a distinguished academic record and be recognized as a leading expert in your field. You have a doctoral degree in a relevant discipline and demonstrate outstanding research achievements, including a significant publication record in prestigious academic journals and conferences.
• You should have a proven track record of securing research funding and grants.
• You should possess exceptional teaching skills and a demonstrated commitment to mentoring and supervising graduate students. You have a track record of effectively delivering lectures, guiding student research projects, and producing successful research outcomes.
• You should exhibit leadership qualities and a willingness to contribute to the academic community.
