The Fourth Affiliated Hospital, Zhejiang University School of Medicine, the International School of Medicine, Zhejiang University, and the International Institutes of Medicine, Zhejiang University form a collaborative partnership established by Zhejiang University and Yiwu Municipal People's Government. With a commitment to uphold the quality and standards of Zhejiang University, and a focus on national strategic priorities and the implementation of the "double first-class initiatives", this triad development model aims to create an internationally recognized, cutting-edge and research-oriented institute for advanced medical education. Its purpose is to explore how local internationalization can drive innovation in medical science and embark on a new educational journey that embraces global engagement.

The Fourth Affiliated Hospital, Zhejiang University School of Medicine is a provincial, comprehensive tertiary class-A hospital integrating medicine, education and research, and is directly affiliated with Zhejiang University. It has a planned 4,300 beds and is ranked top 5% of the tertiary public hospitals in China, making it the youngest hospital in the country to earn the award.

The International School of Medicine, Zhejiang University (ISM) is a secondary college run and managed by Zhejiang University, which is set to become an institute of higher medical education serving the national "Belt and Road" initiative. Huang Hefeng, an academician from the Chinese Academy of Sciences and a famous reproductive medicine scientist, has been appointed as the Dean of the International School of Medicine.

The International Institutes of Medicine, Zhejiang University is a platform for scientific research support and translational medicine research, and has been approved as the first batch of new provincial-level R&D institutions in Zhejiang Province, Zhejiang Engineering Research Center for Future Pathology, Postdoctoral Workstations. An international and cutting-edge research team has been built, focusing on “5+X” disciplines, including Reproductive Medicine, Oncology, Regeneration and Aging Medicine, Global Health, and Traditional Chinese Medicine. 8 centers have been built, including the Centers for Reproductive Medicine, RNA Medicine, Oncology Medicine, Regeneration and Aging Medicine, Metabolic Medicine, Brain and Nerve Disease Research, Mitochondrial Medicine, and Genomics Medicine. We will continue to carry out high-level clinical translation and cutting-edge multidisciplinary cooperation.

Position Description

Tenured Professors or Tenured Associate Professors hold a permanent position within the university's faculty, demonstrating a high level of expertise, scholarly accomplishments, and teaching proficiency in their respective field. This position typically represents the culmination of an extensive academic career, characterized by years of experience, advanced research contributions, and a strong reputation within the academic community.


  • Teaching and Instruction: Your main duty is to deliver high-quality instruction to students, designing and teaching courses that promote their intellectual growth. Your teaching should be engaging, effective and responsive to diverse learners. You may also guide and mentor students, providing academic advice and support.
  • Research and Scholarship: You are expected to conduct impactful and innovative research in your expertise. Your research should contribute to the knowledge in your field and address important intellectual questions. Publishing findings in reputable journals and presenting work at conferences are important for advancing knowledge.
  • Academic Leadership: It is expected of you to be an academic leader within your department and the university. You may provide leadership, guidance and expertise by serving on committees, participating in program development, and contributing to the university's strategic direction.
  • Mentoring and Advising: As an experienced faculty member, you have the responsibility to mentor and advise junior faculty, postdoctoral researchers and graduate students. Your mentorship shapes their careers, fosters their professional development, and contributes to the academic community's growth.
  • Service and Engagement: You will engage in service activities benefiting the university and the academic community. This includes serving on committees, participating in peer review processes, organizing conferences or workshops, and engaging in outreach activities that align with the university's mission and values.
  • Professional Development: It is important to continuously develop and enhance your expertise. You stay updated with the latest research and teaching advancements, participate in professional development activities, and engage in continuous learning to improve your teaching and research skills.
  • Ethical Conduct and Role Modeling: As a Tenured Professor or a Tenured Associate Professor, you must uphold high standards of integrity, professionalism and ethics. You serve as a role model for students and colleagues, demonstrating integrity in your research, teaching and interactions within the academic community.

Basic Qualifications

For the position of Tenured Professor candidate, you should demonstrate a level of academic excellence comparable to tenured professors at renowned universities both domestically and internationally. For the position of Tenured Associate Professor candidate, you should meet the standards equivalent to those of tenured associate professors at prestigious universities both domestically and internationally.
