The Fourth Affiliated Hospital, Zhejiang University School of Medicine, the International School of Medicine, Zhejiang University, and the International Institutes of Medicine, Zhejiang University form a collaborative partnership established by Zhejiang University and Yiwu Municipal People's Government. With a commitment to uphold the quality and standards of Zhejiang University, and a focus on national strategic priorities and the implementation of the "double first-class initiatives", this triad development model aims to create an internationally recognized, cutting-edge and research-oriented institute for advanced medical education. Its purpose is to explore how local internationalization can drive innovation in medical science and embark on a new educational journey that embraces global engagement.
The Fourth Affiliated Hospital, Zhejiang University School of Medicine is a provincial, comprehensive tertiary class-A hospital integrating medicine, education and research, and is directly affiliated with Zhejiang University. It has a planned 4,300 beds and is ranked top 5% of the tertiary public hospitals in China, making it the youngest hospital in the country to earn the award.
The International School of Medicine, Zhejiang University (ISM) is a secondary college run and managed by Zhejiang University, which is set to become an institute of higher medical education serving the national "Belt and Road" initiative. Huang Hefeng, an academician from the Chinese Academy of Sciences and a famous reproductive medicine scientist, has been appointed as the Dean of the International School of Medicine.
The International Institutes of Medicine, Zhejiang University is a platform for scientific research support and translational medicine research, and has been approved as the first batch of new provincial-level R&D institutions in Zhejiang Province, Zhejiang Engineering Research Center for Future Pathology, Postdoctoral Workstations. An international and cutting-edge research team has been built, focusing on “5+X” disciplines, including Reproductive Medicine, Oncology, Regeneration and Aging Medicine, Global Health, and Traditional Chinese Medicine. 8 centers have been built, including the Centers for Reproductive Medicine, RNA Medicine, Oncology Medicine, Regeneration and Aging Medicine, Metabolic Medicine, Brain and Nerve Disease Research, Mitochondrial Medicine, and Genomics Medicine. We will continue to carry out high-level clinical translation and cutting-edge multidisciplinary cooperation.
Position Description
Zhejiang University's "100 Young Professors" program is a talent recruitment initiative aimed at attracting and nurturing outstanding young scholars from around the world. The program was launched in 2015 and aims to recruit a total of 100 young scholars to work at Zhejiang University. Candidates for this position are expected to be or become exceptional and visionary thought-leaders in the related field.
Responsibility
- Research Excellence: Your main duty is to excel in your research. You should strive to conduct high-quality and impactful research in your specialized field. By pushing the boundaries of knowledge, exploring new areas, and making significant contributions to your discipline, you contribute to the advancement of academic scholarship.
- Publication and Dissemination: It is your responsibility to publish your research findings in reputable academic journals and other relevant platforms. Your publications should be rigorous, well-documented, and contribute to the existing body of knowledge in your field.
- Teaching and Mentorship: As a 100 Young Professor, you may be involved in teaching undergraduate and graduate courses. Your teaching should be engaging, innovative, and inspire a passion for learning. You have a duty to impart knowledge, develop critical thinking skills, and mentor students to foster their academic growth. Your mentorship can guide and inspire students, nurturing their passion for research and academia.
- Academic Leadership and Collaboration: You are encouraged to actively participate in academic leadership roles and collaborate with colleagues. This may include joining departmental or university committees, contributing to curriculum development, and initiating or participating in interdisciplinary research projects. By providing leadership and collaborating with others, you contribute to the growth and development of the academic community.
- Professional Development: As a young professor, you should continuously develop your expertise and expand your knowledge. This involves staying updated with the latest research trends, attending conferences and workshops, and seeking opportunities for professional growth and networking.
- Ethical Conduct and Integrity: You are expected to maintain the highest standards of ethical conduct, integrity and professionalism in all aspects of your work. This includes conducting research with integrity, promoting fairness and inclusivity, respecting intellectual property rights, and fostering a positive and respectful academic environment.
Basic Qualifications
- You must have a doctoral degree from a well-known university.
- You should possess an academic level equivalent to an Assistant Professor or Associate Professor at a prestigious international university.
- You should be approximately 35 years old.
