A virtual admission interview with MBBS applicants

A video interview for international student admission to the 2023 MBBS program was held on Jan 3. Applicants from the USA, Thailand, Korea, India, Indonesia, Iran and Bangladesh participated in this video interview.

As a significant part of the admission of international students for MBBS, the video interview was designed to further test the applicants' comprehensive qualities such as language proficiency, academic strength, learning motivation and character fit. Besides, video interviews will become one of the important approaches to enrolling medical candidates with competency.

The interview panel, which was attended by Chen Weiying, vice dean of the International School of Medicine, Zhejiang University (ZJU-ISM) and specialists from The Fourth Affiliated Hospital Zhejiang University School of Medicine(ZJU4H), plays a positive role in the admission of international students and also serves to spark ideas, making the interview a better course in encountering all-around minds.

Medical Bachelor & Bachelor of Surgery Program (MBBS), Zhejiang University School of Medicine was first inaugurated in 2006, as one of the 45 Universities accredited by the Chinese Ministry of Education to admit international medical students. With innovative courses of high quality, the program aims to help students acquire extensive medical knowledge while laying a solid foundation for further study. Students are required to complete three years of pre-clinical courses plus three years of clinical practice.

Up to now, there are more than 1500 students from 75 countries enrolled in this program, most of which are physicians and doctors worldwide after their graduation. Recognized by multiple medical councils made it possible and flexible to conduct medicine when graduate.
