Curriculum

Entry Requirements

Applicants shall meet the overall requirements for undergraduate admission of Zhejiang University.

1. Eligibility requirements

1.1 Non-Chinese citizen with valid foreign passport

1.2 Under the age of 25

1.3 Have graduated from high school (Graduating students can provide pre-graduation certificates first, then provide the graduation certificates no later than registration.)

2. Requirements on nationality

Requirements of the regulations set in the Document No. 12 (2020) of Ministry of Education of the PRC (http://www.moe.gov.cn/srcsite/A20/moe_850/202006/t20200609_464159.html)  should be met. 

3. Minimum entry standards

3.1 Applicants must have passed examination with minimum percentage of marks over 70% aggregate in Math, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (Zoology & Botany) during high school period. 

3.2 Score report of English language Test, e.g. TOEFL, IELTS, CAE, Duolingo or other proof which can reflect applicants’ English proficiency. 

•IELTS: 6.0 overall or above (academic module) with a minimum of 5.0 in each component. 

•TOEFL-iBT: 75 or above with a minimum of 15 in Reading, Listening, Speaking and Writing. 

•Cambridge Certificate in Advanced English (CAE): 170 or above. 

•Duolingo: 100 or above. 

•Exemption Requirements (for language proficiency test score report) 

(1) Native English Speakers. 

(2)Students holding IB, A-level, SAT, ACT or other international standardized test score reports. 

4. Documents for Application

Applicants must log in to the Online Application System for International Students of Zhejiang University, fill in clearly and upload completely the original or notarized scanned copies of the following materials as required. 

4.1 A photocopy of passport front page. (Note: The passport submitted shall be your most recent one and its expiry date shall be after March 1, 2026. )

4.2 Senior high school diploma. Those who provide pre-graduation certificate or student status certificate at application MUST provide senior high school diploma no later than registration. 

4.3 Academic transcripts for all the courses in senior high school. 

4.4 Language proficiency certificates. 

4.5 Personal statement, including study experience, reasons for application and the potential to be a competent physician. (Less than 800 words)

4.6 Two recommendation letters from high school teachers. (Teachers’ signature, contact phone number and email address must be on the letter.) 

4.7 Award-winning Certificates related to academic courses during senior high school period. (If applicable) 

4.8 Applicants under the age of 18 (by September 1st, 2025) should submit Letter of Guardian Guarantee (Download) and the guardian must be an adult living in Chinese mainland. 

4.9 Applicants who have given up their original Chinese citizenship and become foreign citizens shall provide the documents required. (see details on the website) 

4.10 Applicants who have acquired foreign citizenship automatically at the time of birth in a foreign country, whose parents were both Chinese citizens, or one of the parents was a Chinese citizen shall provide the documents required. (see details on the website) 

4.11 Applicants should complete and hand-sign the downloaded PDF version of Commitments for Zhejiang University Undergraduate application. Applications without the Commitments will not be accepted. Note: Once admitted, the passport information cannot be changed until new semester registration. If the passport is replaced due to special circumstances or force majeure, a written explanation should be submitted to the university and consent must be obtained.

Application Process

1. Online Application

Log in to Online Application System for International Students of Zhejiang University (https://isinfosys.zju.edu.cn/recruit/login.shtml), submit all the necessary application documents strictly as required and pay the application fee.

2. InterviewEligible

applicants will receive an email regarding the method and time of the online interview. Interviews are arranged on a rolling basis.

3. Check Application Status

Applicants will be enrolled based on academic performance in senior high school, language proficiency and performance in the online interview, etc. Applicants can log in to the Online Application System to track the application status.

4. Prepaid Tuition(Non-refundable)

Applicants who receive the Pre-Admission Notice should prepay the first-year tuition fee on the Online Application System within the specific time period stated on the Notice. The pre-admission will be cancelled if applicants fail to prepay the first-year tuition fee within the stated time period. 

5. Preparation for Enrollment

Admission Notice can be downloaded from the Online Application System from the end of June, 2025. For visa purpose, the link of the electronic Confirmation Form for Study in China will be emailed to the address filled in the Online Application System by the applicant.Registration Admitted applicants should register with the university strictly according to the time specified in the Admission Notice.

Scholarships

Top 5% of the freshmen cohort will be awarded a Lead Scholarship by ZJUISM.

Top 20% of the class (second to sixth year) will be awarded an Outstanding Academic Performance Scholarship by ZJU-ISM.

Excellent students (second to sixth year) will be awarded a Zhejiang Provincial Government Scholarship (near 15% of batch 2023 students were awarded this scholarship in 2024 based on their academic performance).

Accommodation

Students are expected to live in the Student Dormitory, where each student has an independent bedroom while sharing a bathroom with two other students.

• Rooms are equipped with internet access, WLAN and air-conditioners.

• Public washing machines and dryers are also accessible to students in the dormitory.
