The International School of Medicine, Zhejiang University (hereinafter referred to as ZJU-ISM) was established in response to global trends in medical development. It is jointly built by Zhejiang University and the Yiwu Government, operating as a directly affiliated institution of Zhejiang University with full academic and administrative management by the university, and formal approval from the Chinese Ministry of Education. The inaugural dean is Professor Huang Hefeng, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and an honorary fellow of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RCOG), UK.
ZJU-ISM is positioned as an international, high-level, and research-oriented medical education institution, aiming to cultivate world-class medical scientists and leaders in the healthcare industry. It strives to train high-caliber medical professionals with global competitiveness and provide higher medical education and healthcare industry services to countries globally.
