• Metabolic Medicine

Metabolic medicine is a specialized discipline within medical science dedicated to the study of physiological regulation, pathological dysregulation, and therapeutic interventions related to substance and energy metabolism. Its central aim is to elucidate metabolic homeostasis and its disruption across molecular, cellular, organ, and systemic levels. Currently, the research at Metabolic Medicine Center focuses on:

1. Regulatory mechanisms of basal metabolism: core nutritional and energy metabolic pathways, organelle metabolism, and systemic metabolic regulation.

2. Mechanisms of metabolic disorders and related diseases: chronic metabolic diseases, tumor metabolism, and immunometabolism.

3. Metabolic intervention and therapeutic strategies: drug development targeting novel metabolic pathways, as well as cell and gene therapies.

Mission

  • The Metabolic Medicine Center aims to establish an internationally leading discipline and platform in the field of metabolic medicine. We are dedicated to advancing innovative theories, developing cutting-edge research models for metabolic diseases, accelerating clinical translation and application, and fostering a world-class research team.
